Clear aligners

Not everyone wants their orthodontic treatment on display. If you are looking for a discreet smile solution, clear aligners might be the best answer for you.

Clear aligners

What are clear aligners?

Clear aligners look a bit like thin sports mouthguards. They are custom made for your exact smile, and we use a series of aligners that are each shaped differently to guide your mouth into alignment.

Clear aligners are not only discreet, they are also removable, so you can take them out for mealtimes and important events as needed. Aligners are commonly known by their trade names such as Invisalign® aligners or Clearstep aligners.

How do clear aligners work?

We will use our iTero scanner to make an accurate digital model of your smile before treatment. This model will be used to craft your tailor-made aligners. You will switch to a new aligner every two weeks or so from home to slowly move your teeth into the desired positions.

Aligners need to be worn full-time, day and night except for meal times. It is recommended to wear them at least 20 - 22 hours a day. Aligner treatments tend to take longer than conventional braces to achieve the same effect.

Who are clear aligners best for?

Because they are so discreet, aligners are ideally suited to adult patients whose lifestyle or work commitments make it difficult for them to wear conventional braces. Aligners can also be a great option for children and teens, too!
